Royals Return to IBL Under New Ownership
Shawn Fuller bought the team from Jim Rooney and will field a team in 2018.
The Guelph Royals are under new ownership.
Kitchener businessman Shawn Fuller and Guelph businessman Cam Guthrie officially bought the team from Jim Rooney on Monday.
Fuller is the owner of Canadawide Sports -- a sports equipment distribution company -- while Guthrie is currently Mayor of the City of Guelph.
The team suspended operations on June 21st of this year after opening the 2017 Intercounty League season 1 & 15.
IBL Commissioner John Kastner said the Royals will return to the league in 2018.
