Rangers 5 Attack 4

Kole Sherwood snapped home the game winning goal with just under 8 minutes remaining to give the Rangers a 5-4 and snap a 3 game losing streak.

Joseph Garreffa had 4 assists for Kitchener who trailed 3-2 after 2 periods and were down 4-2 in the 3rd before mounting a 3 goal comeback on 6 shots in the 3rd.

Adam Mascherin had 2 power play goals for the Rangers who improved their hold on first place in the Midwest Division to 34 points, 6 more than the Attack who they will meet again on Friday night in Kitchener ( 7 pm for Kia of Owen Sound-Terry's Trailer Service Bearadio on 560 CFOS )

Greg Meireles who has 2 of his 5 goals this season against Owen Sound & Rickard Hugg with his 2nd of the season had the other goals in the victory.

Nick Suzuki ( shorthanded on a bank shot ). Maksim Sushko on a terrific deke and Sean Durzi from a very sharp angle scored to give Owen Sound a 3-2 lead and chase Rangers starter Chris McGonigle from the net.

McGonigle was replaced by Luke Richardson who gave up a marker to Chase Campbell giving the Attack a 4-2 lead before shutting the door.

The key play in the game came 7 minutes into the 3rd when Aidan Dudas of the Attack scored on a power play to make it 5-3. However, after video review, the conclusion was that Owen Sound was offside on the play and the goal was waved off.

Riley Daniels took the loss in goal for Owen Sound who have now lost 3 in a row to start a stretch of 6 straight games against Midwest Division opponents.

On the season, Owen Sound is 13-10-0 & 2. Remarkably, the Attack have outshot the opposition in 23 of the 25 games and ironically are 1 & 1 in games in which they've been outshot.

That stretch continues Friday at Kitchener and then concludes with a home & home against Guelph- Saturday in Owen Sound & December 9th at the Sleeman Centre.
